I lived in Homeleigh on the corner of School Lane – 1962/3 until 1977. In School lane Linda Millar had her birthday on 13th September, mine was 14th September and Lynn Tutton was on 15th September – how funny was that. Happy days and very happy memories of times gone past. Richard Cuzens.
Hi Richard
I am writing about buildings of Harwell and wonder if you have any photos of the interior and exterior of Homeleigh when you and your parents lived there.
We loved it in School Lane and all the family talk fondly about our time in Harwell. We remember you well and your family living at the top of our road. The local school was very good and the children did well Lynne can remember visiting your house for tea and also remembers your collie dog. We sadly left in 1976 to move to Kent with John’s job. Cathy and Lynne are both artists and Johnny was a teacher but now is an organic gardener. We also did fruit picking. Many of the village woman picked the fruit and took their children with them.
We have made many nostalgic visits back to the village and found it very much the same and the residents as friendly as ever. Lynne was a bell ringer in the local church and remembers your sisters Ann and Jenny and your parents.
We hope you and your family are well.
Kind regards
The Tutton family (late of School Lane, Harwell).
Only just seen your reply. How lovely to know about what happened to you all. After agricultural college, I moved to Dorset and took on my grandfather’s farm – which I still have and farm. Now retired from “gainful employment” off the farm, so play/farm all the time – pedigree beef cattle and sheep.
Where can I see some of Lynn’s work please?
My sister Ann still lives nearby in Didcot, so occasionally visit Harwell.
